Rare and Antique 1430-1480 A.D. Vietnamese Hoi An Hoard Small 2.5cm Brush Pot No.220902
I’m a sucker for antiquities! The older something is the more exciting I find it!
This is a fabulous artefact that dates to over 500 years ago! Dating from between 1430 and 1480 A.D. this lovely delicate brush pot is a Ming Dynasty period piece of pottery.
This fabulous medieval artefact was recovered from a Vietnamese cargo vessel that was discovered in the 1999 off the coast of Hoi An in Vietnam.
With a lovely simple but faded design this sweet little brush pot measures approximately 2.5cm high and 2.5cm in diameter at its widest point – Please look at the pictures for condition and size comparison. This cute pot is in great condition for its age with no chips, cracks or restoration, bearing in mind this pot has lain submerged in the cold harsh ocean for centuries!
It does have some dirt and evidence that it’s been submerged in the sea with small calcium deposits here and there.
This pot comes with all the original authenticity labels from Saga and Visal and Butterfields Auction House in San Francisco. This one is numbered No.220902.
This is a great piece of history and an exciting talking piece – Perfect for those collectors out there who have always wanted to own a piece of Ming Dynasty pottery, but could never afford it!
