Description
A gorgeous and delicate little duo! Made circa 1891 to 1920, this Coalport scalloped cup and saucer set is made from a lovely fine and translucent porcelain in the very familiar, popular and collectable Indian Tree design which was originally introduced by Coalport in 1801.
This lovely set is in excellent and totally undamaged condition and is perfect for the collector. There are some factory faults to the leadless glaze on the underside of the saucer, which is common for pieces of this age, and comes from the manufacturing process.
The cup measures 6.5cm in diameter at the top and just over 6cm high with a matching saucer that measures 13cm in diameter.
Marked on the underside with the blue Coalport England mark, which was introduced between 1891 and 1920, where the word England was replaced with “Made in England”.
A lovely piece for display.
